The joint conference of IUFRO Division 5 and the SWST will be held at the Estonian National Museum in Tartu, Estonia, from May 30 to June 3, 2027. The call for abstracts will close by 26^th of October 2026, and acceptance of submissions will be sent out no later by 27^th of November 2026. 

This IUFRO Division 5 Forest Products Conference will bring together experts to discuss the future of sustainable forestry, wood science, forest products and the circular bioeconomy. The topic of the conference is "Future Forest Use: Advancing Wood Science and Forest Products for a Circular Bioeconomy".

The International Wood Culture Society (IWCS) and IUFRO Research Group 5.15.00 Forest Products Culture co-organize the following two sessions: 

• Forest Products Culture for a Sustainable Future 
• Chess in Forest Products Culture: Strategic Thinking for the Circular Bioeconomy – Prophylaxis, Resource Efficiency and Sustainable Wood Utilization (co-organized with Research Group 5.12.00 Sustainable Utilization of Forest Products)

It goes beyond wood, emphasizing the efficient, science-based use of forest resources for the good of mankind. In addition to scientific sessions, the program will include a day of field trips as well as post-conference tours.
